It was initially founded in The Experimental High School ATT. Beijing Normal University by Dale ZHANG Yuye in November, 2008.<span id="more-14"></span></p>

<p>Thanks to the extensive efforts set forth by ambitious student leaders appointed in different schools and the founder himself, within two months, &#8220;Grow Up&#8221; had established branches in six prestigious high schools across the city and began inviting contributions.</p>
<p>As of June 1st 2009, nearly 200 authors from five different grade levels have contributed their manuscripts to the magazine.</p>
<p>In September 2009, as a &#8220;back to school surprise,&#8221; the inaugural issue was released simultaneously to the six participating schools. The publication notched up a great success.</p>
<p>As of the initial issue, six prestigious high schools in Beijing were accredited official branches of <em>Grow Up</em>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experimental High School ATT. Beijing Normal University (Mr. Dale ZHANG Yuye)</li>
<li>Beijing No. 4 High School (Ms. Zhai Yinan)</li>
<li>High School Affiliated to Renmin University (Ms. Zhang Zexi)</li>
<li>Second High School ATT. Beijing Normal University (Ms. Liu Chang)</li>
<li>Beijing No. 8 Middle School (Mr. Gong Ze)</li>
<li>High School ATT. Capital Normal University (Ms. He Mengshi)</li>
<li>International School of Beijing (Mr. Cox)</li>
